Although this was not the book that I thought I was getting, I did enjoy it. Birds of North America Unit Study was written as a study of one man's study of the birds he has seen. As I say, entertaining and interesting.Product details

Birds of North America Unit Study eBook Linda Andrew Reviews
This is a good product for homeschool, or for anyone else who wants to learn more about birds. It includes links to other places to find more information, and is not too detailed for younger kids. I have a soon-to-be third-grader and fourth-grader, as well as a seventh-grader, and I like studies that teach them scientific terms and complex ideas, but in a way they can understand them.
One thing that NEEDS corrected. On the third page of the study, the author writes about birds using their tail feathers to brake during flight. Specifically, she writes that they use their tail feathers for "breaking during flight." The correct word should be "braking." To brake means to stop or put on the brakes. To break means, well, to break, which doesn't make sense in this case. I would worry that children who read this will assume that is the correct word. It isn't.
Although this was not the book that I thought I was getting, I did enjoy it. Birds of North America Unit Study was written as a study of one man's study of the birds he has seen. As I say, entertaining and interesting.
